I branched off into paranormal (Heart of the Sorcerer, Absolution, Prophecy's Bride (short)).

From what I've heard from other writers, I'm supposed to pick a genre and stay there, but I feel comfortable writing anything that grabs my fancy. I know writing what's popular would be a bigger paycheck, but I write as a hobby more so than an actual job. I enjoy what I write, and I write what I feel passionate about. My short short story Songbird is just a western about a young woman who runs from a marriage she doesn't want.
I wrote one of my stories solely for the pleasure of my husband and I found it harder to write than any of the previous ones because it was outside my comfort zone. My writing career began when I was 54. My husband was constantly telling me I should write down all these stories I made up and one day, he went out and bought me a computer and told me to have at it. I've been writing since and enjoying every moment. Ending my stories leaves me feeling sad. The characters become my friends and I share their experiences with them. Almost like I am there as well.
So time travel, paranormal or science fiction - whatever! I write what grabs my fancy. Who knows? One day I might try a contemporary romance!
