Too Much To Do - And Other Stuff #mustreads #saffron #scifi #scifiromance
Do you ever feel like you're letting yourself go down a deep hole and losing focus? Seems like that for me lately. So much going on with my books; republishing my Star Brides series (The Chalice, Breeder Slave, Abaddon Rising and Requiem), promo for latest book, Saffron, publishing my fourth book, The Sanctuary, in the Riley's Journey (Time Warriors) series, and just writing in general. I retired at 65 but I feel like I have a full time job. I'm hopeful that as soon as I get past these issues, things will settle down and I can focus on one thing at a time, instead of a whole landslide of issues.
The good thing is January is almost over within a few months, Spring will be here. I look forward to that and maybe, just maybe, start walking again.
Hugs my friends and here's to peace and tranquility.

Just in Time for Christmas - December 5 - RELEASE DAY - SAFFRON! #dystopian #scifibooks #romancebooks #mustreads
Just in time for Christmas. DECEMBER 5 - RELEASE DAY! SAFFRON! And it's also my birthday so doubly special!
SAFFRON is Book 1 in my new series, The Chimeras.
Blurb: The alien invasion has left humanity teetering on the brink of total annihilation. The survivors need an edge, and fierce huntress Saffron sets out to make that happen. Smart, fast, strong, with razor keen senses, all Saff really cares about is wiping the invaders from the face of planet Earth. But life has a way of changing and when the hunter, Gabe, tracks her to the underground fortress, her world takes on new meaning.

Excerpt:
By
now, the rain had increased to a steady stream. Thunder rolled in the distance
but didn’t appear lightning was happening anywhere near them. One thing to be
grateful for. He found a good spot under a tall conifer and hunkered down. Going
to be a long watch. At least here under the tree, he was shielded from most of
the rain but common sense warned that if it’d been a lightning storm, he’d have
had to find a better place. He’d heard stories about people taking shelter
under trees during a storm and not living to tell about it later. He didn’t
want to be one of them. Besides that, lightning storms and the threat of fire
could be a major problem and he had no desire to be caught in the middle of a
forest fire. At least not in this getup! His imagination whirled. Death
by forest fire and his smoking body found later, still in the stupid hat and
the garbage bag.
The
branches rustled and then Wolf squatted down. “Thought I’d keep you company for
a while. Know I wasn’t followed but seems to be more jackers wandering the
hills.” He shook his head flipping water from the dark braid. “Might be they
have a camp somewhere close. Wouldn’t doubt it. Even those bastards aren’t safe
from the ADs.”
“Might
think they are but no one really is. Maybe they’re helping the Friems and maybe
they think by helping the bastards, they’ll be safe. Wouldn’t put it past them.
Not known for much brain power.”
“Makes
a person wonder,” Wolf muttered. “Can’t for the life of me figure out why
anyone would help them. Especially now when it looks like they might be
colonizing.” He slanted an amused look in Gabe’s direction. “Nice raincoat.”
Wolf
of course had a perfectly normal raincoat on, one of those plastic orange
things that were sold by the millions many decades ago.
“Yours
is better,” he groused feeling even more ridiculous.
“Wonder
why Saff didn’t lend you hers?”
Gabe’s
teeth ground together. “She has one?”
“We
all do,” Wolf chuckled. “Found a whole cache of them when we opened up one of
the storage rooms in the redoubt.” His chuckle grew to an outright laugh,
unusual for the stern-faced male.
***
In
the depths of Maggie’s tent, Saff buried her face in her coat giggling
uncontrollably. Ingrid was going to kill her when she found out what she’d done
with the garbage bag. They were almost like gold nowadays and Ingrid was very
stingy when it came to handing them out.
Paybacks
are hell she thought. But it was just too damn funny.
For
a while after, she listened to their voices, so clear as to seem they were
right next to her. Gabe’s low murmurs and Wolf’s replies. Talking about
everything and nothing. Silly as it seemed, it made her feel safe knowing Gabe
was nearby. She had this dumb idea that he would protect her. Like I need
protecting. But it was nice pretending.
First
thing she would do when they got back to the redoubt would be to call a sister
meeting and warn the girls off, making sure they knew without doubt that she
was staking a claim. Gabe was hers until she decided whether or not there was
even the slightest chance of a relationship. Sage was the only one who might be
a problem but Saff could handle her.
Decision
made, she finally let sleep claim her.

Cover Reveal - Book 4 in the Riley's Journey Series - Titled THE SANCTUARY #plparker #timetravel #romancebooks
This has definitely been a busy, but very productive, writing year for me. Not only did I finish SAFFRON recently, but I just finished my edits on THE SANCTUARY, Book 4 in the Riley's Journey series. This book was created because I've had so many people wanting the story to continue. I had to revisit my notes, etc., from some time ago, but think it turned out pretty well.
For your enjoyment, the cover to THE SANCTUARY! I think my cover artist did a wonderful job!

It's Turkey Time and I'm Doing the Happy Dance! #thanksgiving #holidayseason #holidays #paranormal #scifi
I love Thanksgiving, all the wonderful food and family! And of course, it's the prelude to the Christmas Holidays, my all time favorite time of the year.
This year, I'm cooking the feast. Been several years or more since I have. Mostly, my middle son Travis cooks the meal and he and his partner, Amber, are excellent cooks!
I'm going for the usual - turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, a vegetable, homemade Parkerhouse rolls, and of course pies, berry and pumpkin. I've been busy baking and freezing so keeping ahead of the game.
I just wanted to take the time to wish each of you a very Happy Thanksgiving and lots of good food!

Memories of Easter #scifi #scifiromance #plparker #easter
With Easter just around the corner, I'm taken back to my childhood and all the good memories surrounding Easter. Easter was an event at our house. The day before, we colored eggs and generally made a huge mess. On Easter morning, we had the requisite Easter egg hunt for the eggs we colored and candy hidden by Dad. We dressed in our new Easter clothes which included gloves and a stupid hat, attended church, had a big Easter dinner (usually ham and potato salad which was made from the colored eggs) and enjoyed a day of special family closeness. The picture below is one such day. (For some reason my father always had us facing the sun when he took pictures. Ergo, the squinty eyes and pained smiles. FYI - I'm the littlest of the girls.)
Back in those days, we were allowed to celebrate Easter at school. No restrictions on a religious holiday. I remember in school every child worked hard to make a ridiculous Easter hat (though there were those fancy hats we knew were created by the child's parent). Mine were always self-made and less than creative but I was proud of them. The Friday before Easter, we'd have a big Easter parade circling the gymnasium with everyone singing "Easter Parade". It was fun and entertaining. Good times!
Without little ones running around the house, Easter is not the event it was when I was young but I still enjoy the day. My wish for you is a Happy Easter and a bit of joy in your life. And if you don't celebrate Easter, I wish you a great day of love and laughter! Hugs.

#timetravel Step Into My Time Machine!
I don't think there are many people out there who wouldn't, if given the chance, step through a portal and travel back, maybe for only an hour, a day or perhaps forever. The destination/time frame choices are endless. I've always had a fascination with time travel. I've read recently where there are people who can mentally travel back in time, with some success I believe. Whether that is true or not, I choose to believe.
I've written several books in which the heroine travels back in time, some scifi and others a good old portal. So if you have the urge to travel ancient China, old England, the last great Ice Age, or the wild wild west, I have just the thing.
Let's start with my very first ever novel, FIONA:
Blurb: Time shifts in ever changing motion. But can love survive the ravages of time?
Set against the backdrop of Ancient China, Fiona finds herself transported to a time of barbarian warriors and marauding nomads from the northern steppes. She discovers a new way of life in the arms of the handsome warrior Kellach, a man of noble stature among the Celtic settlements ringing the great Taklamakan. Desperate to return to the present while struggling against her mounting feelings, she finally accepts her fate, exulting in the rapture and delights to be found as Kellach’s mate.
High Priestess Voadicia wants Lord Kellach for her own—and only the outsider Fiona stands in her way.
A pictur
e hangs over the mantle in Gran’s cottage depicting a beautiful man of another time, a man who haunts Annalisa’s every dream, a man who calls to her in dreams.
Unknown to Annalisa, Gran and Alec, the man in the painting, have set forth a course of events to eventually send Annalisa back, back into the arms of Alec.
Then came the first in my scifi time travel series, RILEY'S JOURNEY, followed by INTO THE SAVAGE DAWN and BEYOND TOMORROW:Jake Marshall, scout for the Markham Party, is the perfect, if unwilling choice. Undaunted by his overt rudeness, Aimee entices Jake to the alter, promising her diamond earrings as payment for a marriage of convenience. Properly wed, she secures passage on the wagon train, and discovers her future may be in the past.
