"You Better Not Smash" - A very funny video created by my son after being yelled at in the Mongolian BBQ

My middle son is very creative.  He is currently venturing into videos and music created with AI.  He is the one who created my book video for my Star Brides series.  Anyway, he and his family were at Mongolian BBQ and he was pushing down on the food in his bowl to put in the sauce and one of the cooks started yelling at him.  This link below is his response. Very funny.

Video Book Trailer for my series, THE STAR BRIDES #scifiromance #romance #mustread

My middle son, doing business as Trubslayer and Killer Peanut, created this book trailer video for my STAR BRIDES series.  I love it. The music is so haunting.

Vacation from H#!l - As Vacations Go

Okey, so my son and I decided to pack up the trailer, gather the three dogs and drive off into the wild blue yonder, or the Oregon Coast as it were.  Wildfires are rampant in Oregon, so much devastation. Because of the problems with most routes, we took Highway 26 because at the time it was supposed to be open all the way to Sisters.  We were doing great and then... Just beyond Mitchell, we were routed to some town called Fossil on a horrible stretch of road, barely room for one car, big drop off on passenger side with no guard rails, had to ride the brakes all the way and no gas stations.  It was a harrowing ride and three hours later, we made it into Madras with barely two gallons left in the gas tank. Four hours later we made it into Sisters. Everything was closed for the night so we bought chips and dips and drinks at a gas station and called it a night. Morning comes. We pack up to head into Corvallis to see my sister.  The ABS light comes on.  ARRGGGGGHHHH. But we made it. Having a nice visit with sister, started to step down into the garage and fell down the steps.  Really hurt but fortunately, no broken bones. Left my sister's and headed towards Newport.  ABS light went off.  Whew!  Got to our campsite just as the place was closing down for the night.  Another Whew.  Next day, decided to go sightseeing. Bought a wagon for the dogs.  They chewed it up and then Poppy slipped out of her harness and escaped the wagon on that busy coast highway.  Fortunately, son caught her before she got too far.  Back to the trailer for the night. Next day sister and her daughter drove in from Corvallis to spend the day.  Had a really nice time. Ate at Moe's.  They headed home. Son got really sick for about 3 hours.  He was the only one who had lettuce on his sandwich.  We did see some whales and had a fantastic dinner at a place called Crabby Daddy's near Depoe Bay.  Time to head home.  ABS light came on again but shut off.  Made it to Sisters for the night.  Got to eat this time and then headed home the next morning.  Highway 20 was open finally so the trip home was a lot shorter than the trip to the Coast. Gas prices were very costly during the trip and the campsite wasn't cheap either but we expected that.

Got home - our big honey locust in backyard had split during a windstorm, neighbors said Friday night.  Also, they saw rats in the neighborhood.  *Sigh*  Bought traps.  Next day watching out the window and saw some strollers pointing and waving at our house.  I went outside.  The neighbor's tree had fell down, crashed through the fence and landed between neighbor's house and mine.  *Sigh again*

Anyway, next year we might have to come up with some alternate plans...or not go.

They Were Genetically Enhanced to Lead the Fight Against the Alien Invaders - THE CHIMERAS

I'd like to introduce my alien invaders/dystopian series, THE CHIMERAS. Genetically enhanced by their own mother, these six women possess skills far above any of the existing populace - which is sparse at best. Saffron, the leader, Poppy, the healer, Ginger, the nurturer, Sage, the warrior, Anise, the tech expert, and Thyme, a composite of all her sisters. They are stronger, faster, possess elevated eyesight and hearing, and they hate the alien invaders.  These are their stories. Available from Amazon in e-book or paperback.

It's the Hap, Hap, Happiest Time of the Year! The Holidays Are Upon Us.

It's that time of year again and the holidays are upon us, but not everything always happens the way we imagine, certainly not for this poor girl.

The Christmas Diary - or should I say the boyfriend fiasco?

https://www.plparker.net/_files/ugd/99002d_83c25f82cb944d86bac4be754b62e154.pdf

Here's hoping your holiday season is all that you imagined.  Happy Holidays!

Monday, November 24, 2025

Best wishes, my friends and family, for the Holiday Season and always.

Been an eventful year, good, bad and sad. We lost my sister, Karlyn, this year and it was heartbreaking, but I am hopeful 2026 will bring with it lots of joy and good cheer.

As we approach Thanksgiving, bittersweet memories have often been on my mind. I remember my father always stuffed the turkey on Thanksgiving and Christmas morning, and I would wake up and head to the kitchen to help.  He always let me chop the onions (go figure) which wasn't my favorite, but I was just happy to be there helping. I was one of those kids who'd rather be helping mom and dad than hanging out with friends - most of the time. I learned to bake from my mother, who learned from her mother, and I ended up being a pretty good baker. (Maybe not so good about other things - like the time I made chicken with Russian fruit sauce. After trying to wash off the sauce, my boys tossed it in the garbage and headed to McDonalds.)

When I was growing up, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners were always turkey and all the fixings. We had turkey, Parkerhouse rolls, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, candied yams, pickles, olives, a vegetable, and always a Danish dish, sweet and sour red cabbage, and of course pies, pumpkin, apple and cherry. A veritable feast!

Then dinner was on the table. Dad was a prankster and harassed anyone who sat next to him so it was a fight to see who wouldn't get stuck near him. My sister Elena was always graceful about being stuck so she ended up near him most of the time. The blessing was said and then noise began. Our dinners were always full of noisy discussions about anything and everything.

Every dinner cleanup included my mom, my two sisters and me singing while we worked. Mom had a pretty voice and we three girls ended up with very reasonable voices so it was a special time.  "Silver Bells" was a specialty of ours and it still is a favorite of mine.

Decorating for Christmas at my house takes place after Thanksgiving, though I enjoy the early decorators' efforts. A bit of joy in a troubling time. I'm working on a stocking for my new DIL, Melanie, and my little great granddaughter, Avril. You know you are officially a part of my immediate family when you get a stocking. LOL.

If you are looking for a gift for the holidays, my books might just be the trick.  Here's a link to my author page on Amazon:

Anyway, my best to each of you and lots of love and warm hugs coming your way.

Coming Very Soon - ANISE - Book 5, The Chimeras #scifi #dystopian #romance #romanticadventure

It's always so exciting to finally type "The End" on a manuscript. A time for celebration! I've reached that pinnacle on my latest WIP, ANISE, Book 5, The Chimeras. She's the tech specialist, brilliant and driven, and the destruction of the alien invaders is the only thing she really cares about, or so she thinks.

Here's the cover art created by Harris Channing who always does such a good job.

It's That Time of the Year! #christmas #shopping #blackfriday #cybermonday #scifi #romance #westernromance

We're heading into the Christmas frenzy. Yesterday marked "Black Friday" and Monday is "Cyber Monday". Makes a person's head swirl, especially those of us who've procrastinated on getting started with the holiday shopping.

Actually, I've done well so far. I did get my holiday package sent to my son who is in the Marines and serving way overseas in a country I almost had never heard of.  But hopefully the package will arrive in good time and in good condition.

I wonder, have you considered e-books for your loved ones? If so, I have a suggestion. My western time-travel romance, AIMEE'S LOCKET. Although not just a holiday romance, there is a Christmas celebration as part of the read. Aimee just wants to go home, to modern day Seattle.

In e-book, print and audio.
