Want to Win Print Books? First Three Books in Chimera Series! #scifi #romance #dystopian #adventure #alieninvasion

Want to win the first three books in the Chimeras Series?  Print books no less of Saffron, Poppy and Ginger. Of course you do.  Here is the only rule - you have to live in the continental United States so I don't have to sell my oldest son to pay postage.

All you have to do is send an email to me at plparker92@yahoo.com and say "I Want to Win!"  When I have picked the winner, I will contact that person and ask for their mailing address (which I would never give out to anyone else).

Hope to see your entries! Let the best man or woman win.

Patsy.

Spring is Just Around the Corner - YAYYYYYY! #spring #plparker #romance #scifi

Spring is just around the corner and I am so ready for it. Seems as though this winter has been a long one or perhaps I'm just getting old and the cold weather affects me more. No matter! Spring is almost here!

Soon, I'll be out in the yard pulling out old plants in preparation for planting new. Yard cleanup, and I can tell I've got my work cut out for me.  I have to admit, I hate mowing but generally my son handles that aspect for me.

The tulips have already broke through as well as patches of daffodils and crocus. Love my tulips. Unfortunately, so do the squirrels. Who knew squirrels would eat tulips but they do. Ornery critters.

Anyway, with all that's going on in the world, I'm content to stay in my own little corner and enjoy the benefits it provides.

Here's to Spring!

A Month of Love! Valentine's Day #valentines #love #scifi #paranormal #plparker

Happy Valentine's Day!  I have always loved Valentine's Day, more so when my husband was alive, but to me, it is a day of joy.  Hearts and flowers and, of course,  chocolate.  My husband always made sure I received at least one of these standard gifts and, every so often, a stuff toy.  My favorite is/was the pink monkey I have hanging on my cabinet. Used to drive him crazy the many poses I could put that monkey in, but secretly, I think he liked it.

Here's wishing you a month of love and joy, and many more after this.

Patsy

P.S. - I heard the groundhog didn't see his shadow so spring is coming early.

Sunday Snippit - Book 4 Star Brides Series - REQUIEM #scifi #scifiromance #romancebook #plparker

REQUIEM - Book 4 in the Star Brides (Deg'Nara) Series

Blurb:

The rebels are losing the intergalactic war.

They need a prototype of the Deg’Nara’s latest weapon, a planet-killer, to survive. A covert operations team is tasked with finding and retrieving the weapon. Their mission is proceeding as planned but goes horribly wrong when Ashyr, a space pirate, swoops in and literally tears the weapon from the team’s hands.
Cam can’t let that happen. Impetuous, reckless, and determined to retrieve it at all costs, she throws herself onto Ashyr’s ship and the battle begins.

Sunday Snippit:

One eye popped open. With a low groan, Cam forced the other to follow. Her head ached as though a million drums were pounding an uneven rhythm through her brain. She cringed in pain. Even her teeth hurt! She started to raise her hands and rub her forehead but then realized she was lying on her side on a lumpy cot with her hands and feet bound behind. Not much chance of escape!

Water! What she wouldn’t do for a glass of water right now. Her mouth felt like cotton and tasted like shit!

“You’re awake,” a deep voice grumbled.

Cam’s lashes fluttered as she fought to focus. The bug-eyed, green-skinned alien of her nightmares stood before her. “Yeah, and lucky for me, the first thing I see is your butt-ugly face.”

With a growl, he fiddled with his wrist-com, releasing the shackles binding her feet and then dragged her upright. “Ashyr wants to see you. Now!”

“Sorry. No can do,” she flipped, shaking her head. “Got a bitch of a headache. Female thing you know.”

“You go,” he snarled as he shoved her through the entryway into a dimly lit corridor.

Sarcasm was always her favorite weapon when she was scared—and she was terrified right now and so stinking alone. “Help me out here! What do I call you besides creepy or ugly? Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with either one.”

She could almost feel the steam emanating from his scaly green skin, but after a few parsecs, he grudgingly answered.

            “I am called Falis.”

She managed a short laugh even though her heart was pounding. “Ah! Phallic? Good name. Fits.”

            “Falis! My name is Falis.”

Phallic! Falis! Sounds the same. Most of the males on our planet go by the name of phallic or phallus in one way or another. Doesn’t matter, but we usually shorten it to Dick!” She gave him a sneering smile. “Dick! Perfect! That’s what I’ll call you. So much more intimate.”

She was rewarded by another hearty shove. She stumbled and started to fall but managed to throw her shoulder forward and avoided landing face first on the cold metal floor.

She rolled to her back, glaring at her antagonist. “That was really hurtful Dick! And just when I thought our relationship was improving.”

He raised his huge foot preparing to kick, which left his gonads, or what she hoped were his gonads, exposed. Instinct and self-preservation took over! Quick as lightning, she raised her foot and landed a solid blow to his privates. He fell back, emitting a high-pitched squeal. Four-fingered claws clutched the injured parts as he thrashed on the floor of the corridor, howling as though he was in the throes of death.

“Any chance you’re having trouble with erectile disfunction? If so, I think I fixed the little problem.”

If her situation wasn’t so dire, she’d almost feel elated. She rolled to her knees and scuttled backwards keeping a sharp eye on the thrashing alien. Dick’s wrist-com most likely held the punch code to release her hands and she needed that code! She edged closer, almost frantic in her haste to obtain his wrist-com and get free! She dropped to her butt. Her bound hands made grasping his wrist all the more awkward and Dicky-boy’s berserk movements made it almost impossible! If she could only get a good hold…

She froze as a panel to her right slid open. The light emanating from the interior framed the form of a tall figure. Silvery eyes glowed from the shadowed face.

            “I see you’re awake.”

Her stomach did a flip-flop. This most definitely was the one in charge. Ashyr, she recalled Falis saying. “Yeah, and I was just on my way to complain about the accommodations! Dick, here,” she tossed her head in Falis’s direction, “isn’t the most congenial porter I’ve ever encountered.” She heaved a long, self-pitying sigh. “I had to carry my own luggage!”

Helpful Tips? And Then Some! #plparker #scifi #timetravel

January seems to be the month when helpful tips abound.  How to do this! How to do that! What to avoid! What to eat! Do I have lipstick on my teeth? Spinach? Big etc.

In keeping with these ages-old self-helps, here are a few tips I've compiled on my own to help in these times of self-reflection.

1 - Check your nipples before you leave the house!  I know! This sounds weird but I once watched a movie years ago, maybe Van Wilder or Sorority Boys, and in that movie, the girls' t-shirts get wet.  Of course they are bra-less, but I've never forgotten the fact that I believe the girl, Bree Turner's nipples were uneven, one high and the other low, and it looked really weird.  Note to self. Check the mirror before you leave and if there is a hint of nipples, make sure they are hanging even.

2 - Never leave a public restroom before you check your behind in the mirror! I've seen this happen and I must confess, it happened to me.  I was about ready to leave the restroom in a casino in Virginia when the attendant stopped me.  She didn't speak very good English and I'm hard of hearing so we were having some issues communicating.  Finally, she grabbed my arm, turned me around and motioned for me to look.  There it was!  A toilet seat cover hanging from my waistband.  OMG!  The horror. What if I'd actually walked out with that white flag flapping on my rear.  In retrospect, I will forever be grateful to that attendant.  Though embarrassing, it could have been a complete disaster.

3 - Tweeze those nose hairs. If you are trying to be taken seriously, get those suckers trimmed.  If you don't, whatever important issue you are trying to convey will get lost because your captive audience will only be focusing on the insane growth leaking from your nostrils.  Seen that!

4 -  Maybe I'm from a different era but, ladies, shave those underarms!  It's almost a shock to my system when an attractive young lady raises her arm and there is this massive bush just waiting to spring forth! One of my favorite places to go is to Stanley, Idaho, and I see this quite often along with the unshaved legs, etc. Okay! Okay! It's your right, feminist ladies! Seems to be a trend with the fashion world. The issue is mine to bear. Just give me a few moments to collect myself before you expect me to speak.

5 - Of course there is always the issue of eating garlic or onions on a special date or otherwise. Never, never choose those options unless your date is eating the same.

I'm sure there are thousands more helpful hints I could add to this list and if you have any of your own, feel free to message me and I'll add them in.

Blessings for the New Year and my hope is that each of you will have special things happen in 2022!

Patsy

 Excerpt:

Both excited and sad, Cam stared out the viewing screen, watching and waiting for the rebel techs’ arrival. She looked forward to being back with the team but leaving Joss—and Ashyr—filled her with melancholy and deep-seated loss. Joss was her best friend and Ashyr, well, Ashyr had carved out a place in her heart. Not that he knew he had, but she knew. Just thinking about leaving and possibly never seeing him again caused her heart to ache.

Why do I care! She’d barely seen him since they arrived at the Mogishada fleet several cycles ago, mostly passing in the hall or catching brief sights of him across the way in the immense cafeteria. He was avoiding her and she couldn’t understand why.

She leaned against the viewing pane, relishing the coolness against her forehead, the action centering her and easing somewhat the dismal direction of her thoughts.

I should be ecstatic! Not down and disheartened. Being back with the rebels where she belonged was a good thing. What she wanted. She’d keep busy, involved. Work up a good sweat and go to bed, too tired to dream about what might have been. Ashyr was a pirate and he had no real affiliations other than those loose connections with others of his kind. Mooning over him wasn’t doing her a damn bit of good.

So why did it hurt so much?

“Ashyr’s looking for you.” Thrall’s husky voice startled her from her reverie.

She leaned back, fingers rubbing the faint moisture from her brow. “Why?”

He shrugged. “Didn’t say. Just said if I saw you to let you know he wanted to speak to you.”

That familiar thrill of anticipation coursed through her veins. It also irritated her that the mere mention of his name set her female parts thrumming.

“And I’m supposed to just jump when he snaps his fingers?” She spun on her heels, planning to escape.

He caught her arm before she could move away. “He wants to talk to you about something. I don’t know what but maybe it’s important.”

Important? What could be important now that the Mogishada had the kraebek? That was the only reason he was here! Against her better judgment, her innate curiosity kicked in. Didn’t hurt to at least find out what he wanted.

“It’d better be important,” she muttered. “Where do I find him?”

Thrall spoke into his wrist com. “I found her. She wants to know where you want to meet.”

Ashyr’s voice clicked on. “I’ll meet her at her quarters.”

Cam slanted a glance in Thrall’s direction. “Does he even know where my quarters are?”

“I do,” Ashyr’s voice replied. “Meet me there in five.”

Thrall’s fingers slid across the wrist com, ending the connection. His lips curved in a slight grin as he studied her stormy features. “Relax! It could be something good.”

“Meet me there in five,” she snipped, mimicking Ashyr’s voice. “Like I’m holding my breath and just waiting for him to call.”

In all actuality, she was, but no reason for him to know that. Wasn’t like she had anything better to do anyway.

Thrall waved one hand as he strode away. “Do yourself a favor and be nice.”

“I’m always nice,” she protested. “Most of the time anyway.”

She caught his derisive snort as he rounded the corner.

Jerk! She could be nice. Very nice if the situation warranted but Ashyr hadn’t been the easiest guy to get along with.
